August 27th – September 2nd

The Valley Nerd Watch!

Have you been to Eastworks lately? What about Mill 180 Park, The Indoor Park That Accidentally Made Itself Look Exactly Like What a Child Wants to Climb Upon? They’re both nice places full of nice things! Like parm fries.

Also in case you weren’t aware, there’s a massive nation-wide prison strike.

Rebels incarcerated in prisons across the nation are preparing for a nationwide strike demanding humane living conditions, access to rehabilitation, sentencing reform and the end of modern day slavery.

You can support the strikers here, and prison policy reform in general here. The Prison Policy Initiative is based in Easthampton!

Finally, Dead Cells is a lot of fun if you’re into that sort of thing and we are.

Oh and actual finally via Kathy Aidala of Mount Holyoke College:

Mount Holyoke College is presently renovating 8,000 square feet to expand our maker capabilities and to better integrate these capabilities into our academic mission. We are searching for the Technical Lead and Design Mentor, who will run the day-to-day activities of the Makerspace, along with the Makerspace Coordinator, and help to foster an inclusive climate and collaborative learning environment.

A primary component of the job will be to mentor the highly varied interdisciplinary projects, which requires flexibility and broad knowledge of how to make a wide range of products using many different materials.

See full ad here. Feel free to contact me with any questions. We will begin reviewing applications beginning September 4, with an anticipated start date in mid-November.
