Hello! Big deal up top: Chuck Forsman, of The End of the Fucking World (and the Netflix series) and I Am Not Okay With This (and the Netflix series) is going to be at the best comic shop in 100 miles, Comics N’ More! Buy both books at the store! Get them signed! A Local Creator who you can meet and say “I like your work” to!

Oh! And more big news! The spectacular manager of the dearly departed Modern Myths comics/game shop is going to open up a game/food shop in Holyoke! Avalon Game Cafe will have food and also fun! You can help support them by investing money via MainVest, which is good to do if you have like $100+ to toss toward a thing you think you’re going to like! If not, just stay tuned and we’ll definitely let you know when they’re ready to kick off!

This week! You can check out the Queer/Trans Comedy Showcase [Tuesday the 25th, 7:30PM, The Majestic Saloon, 24 Main St., Northampton]. It’s a benefit show for Black & Pink which is a LGBTQIA2S+ prisoner liberation organization. Suggested donation: $20!

Books? Okay! If you want to talk books head to Book Moon in Easthampton [Monday the 24th 5PM to 6PM, 86 Cottage St., Easthampton] and the Sobremesa Book Club! Each month they pick a different Latin American Woman or Queer Author!

Odyssey [9 College St., South Hadley] has a few nice signings/readings! On Tuesday the 25th at 7PM “a book talk and signing with Martha Ackmann, author of These Fevered Days: Ten Pivotal Moments in the Making of Emily Dickinson.” On Wednesday the 26th at 7PM you can head to “a book talk and signing with Gabriel Bump, author of the Odyssey’s First Editions Club February selection, Everywhere You Don’t Belong.” On Thursday the 27th at 7PM “a book talk and signing with Elizabeth Young, Carl M. and Elsie A. Small Professor of English at Mount Holyoke College and author of Pet Projects: Animal Fiction and Taxidermy in the Nineteenth-Century Archive.” So many book talks! So many moments to get cool books signed!

Also, head to Packards on Thursday the 27th from 6:30PM to 8:30PM for the Among Others book discussion and dinner!

Then at the Yiddish Book Center [1021 West St., Amherst] on Sunday March 1st from 2PM to 3:30PM you can see an author talk by the authors of the book ‘How Yiddish Changed America and How America Changed Yiddish’!

There’s a lot of neat Forbes Library [20 West St, Northampton] stuff this week too! Monday the 24th from 7PM – 9PM will be having ‘Far Out Film Discussion: The Taste of Tea‘. It’s formatted like a book club, so watch the film (free on Kanopy with a library card) before you head over! Then there’s the always delightful Forbes Library Zine Club on Wednesday the 26th from 6:30PM – 8:30PM! Zines not loud enough for you, because you’re a cool teen? Try the Podcasting Workshop for Teens on Thursday the 27th from 3:15PM – 4:15PM! And then if you decide that was TOO loud head back to artwork with other cool teens at Teen Arts: Process Painting.

At the Sunderland Public Library you can check out local author and disability advocate Cammie McGovern. Learn how she became an author, and how you can help support friends with disabilities!

Tabletop games! This week we’ve got Tabletop Tuesday at Prodigy [116 Pleasant St., Suite 018, Easthampton] on Tuesday (natch) the 25th from 6PM – 10PM! And then Wednesday the 26th from 7:00PM – 11:30PM at the Brass Cat [65 Cottage St., Easthampton] there’s Start Playing Games! The featured game is Era: Medieval Age! There’s also a Warmachine/Hordes Tournament on Saturday the 29th from 12PM – 8PM, $15 to enter, pizza included! And if you’re near the Berkshires you can head to 2 Flights Up Game Studio [399 Main St., Dalton], which will have a game night Thursday the 27th from 6PM to 10PM! It’s got a $5 cover, but for the entire month, so it’s a pretty good deal.

As always there are also two Magic: the Gathering events! And probably more, but these are the two we know about! First is Monday Modern at Off the Wall! It’s $5 to enter, and it runs from 7PM – 10:30PM. Then there’s Pioneer Valley Planeswalkers on Friday at 7PM at the College Church in Northampton [48 Pomeroy Ter].

History! Historic Northampton [46 Bridge St., Northampton]: Discuss the book Strongmen Monday from 6:30PM – 7:30PM with Vijay Prashad! It’s five essays about five horrific world leaders. Then Sunday at 4:30PM you can see Forever Seeing New Beauties: The Forgotten Impressionist Mary Rogers Williams: A Public Talk by Eve M. Kahn, author and former Antiques columnist for The New York Times. Learn about art history! Oh, and at Historic Deerfield you can check out a lecture: “Taken Away: The Captive Experience in the late 1600s and early 1700s Presented by Kevin Sweeney, professor emeritus, Amherst College”

Miscellaneous fun things! there’s an RPG Club and an Anime Club this week at Palmer Public Library! Speaking of anime: “Keep Your Hands off Eizouken” is a super cute anime we’ve been watching! Just a delight. For more RPG goodness head to Westfield Athenaeum [6 Elm St, Westfield] from 12PM – 4PM on Saturday to play Dungeons and Dragons!

Holyoke Public Library will be having a Teen Movie Night, showing Hidden Figures on Tuesday from 5PM – 8PM!

At the Mead Art Museum there’s a Black Art Matters festival from 5PM – 8PM on the 28th. It’s free and open to all!

Ooh! And this is a neat new one: the Pioneer Valley Radio Control Club will be at the Westfield Athenaeum Tuesday the 25th form 11AM – 2PM!

Wednesday the 26th from 7PM – 10PM at Prodigy in Easthampton you can go to a Super Smash Bros tournament, with a $10 fee to enter!
